As North Tahoe comes alive for the season, Memorial Day Weekend is the perfect time to show your LOVE for our mountain community by choosing to shop, dine, and play local. Spend the day exploring lakeside shops, enjoying local restaurants, relaxing on the beach, or heading out for a hike with big Tahoe views. Local marinas are opening for the season, making it the ideal time to get out on the water by boat, kayak, or paddleboard and kick off summer in classic Tahoe style. From morning coffee runs to sunset dinners by the lake, there are countless ways to make the most of the long weekend while supporting the local businesses that help make North Tahoe so special.
Summer Starts Here
Memorial Day Weekend also marks the return of Opening Weekend on the Lake, the region’s signature kickoff celebration to summer. From May 21–25, communities across North and West Shore, from Kings Beach to Tahoe City and over to Alpine Meadows, will welcome the season with special deals, outdoor recreation, shopping, dining, and local experiences. Produced by the Tahoe City Downtown Association and the Kings Beach District, the event is designed to support local businesses while celebrating the start of summer in North Tahoe.

Watson Cabin, Tahoe City • OPENS JUNE 1 | The Watson Cabin is listed on the National Register for Historic Places as the oldest log structure remaining in the North Lake Tahoe area. Disc Golf in North Tahoe Regional Park
Try your luck at the 18 hole course that meanders through the North Tahoe Regional Park. The course was designed to start at Tee #1 at the top of the hill, however many locals like to start play from Tee #10. All of the volunteers who built the course, as well as the North Tahoe Public Utility District hope you have a great round, and come back to visit us for many more.
